Ann Williamson is a retired Flight Attendant from US Airways. During her 19-year tenure, Ann received the highest honor of her career, flight attendant of the year out of 10,000 others.
After retiring, Ann involved herself with civic and church activities. She served on the Stormwater Advisory Board (2011-2013) and the Tourism Commission (2008-2011) before being elected to her position as City Council Member. The two boards were key in preparing Ann for her role on City Council.
Other activities and organizations include working with area businesses in the Saluda Street Business Corridor, community outreach at Renew Our Community (ROC), and Bible Study Fellowship (BSF). Ann is an active member of the Greek Sorority Delta Sigma Theta, the Optimist Club, serves as 3rd chair with the NAACP, serves on the RFATS Policy Committee and the Boards and Commissions Appointments Committee.
Ann Williamson is a proud native of Rock Hill, and a graduate from the historic Emmett Scott High School. She earned her Early Childhood Education Bachelor's Degree from Winthrop University in 1978. She taught at Independence Elementary School, Ann Barron Child Development Center as lead teacher, and York Technical College Child Development Center before staring her career as a Flight Attendant.
Ann is very active at St. Mary Catholic Church, works in the soup kitchen, serves as a lector, serves as president of the woman's club, and has organized many events that are now annual events.
