When does city council meet?
City Council meets:
Second Monday of each month
5:30 p.m. Citizens Hearing
6:00 p.m. Council Meeting
Fourth Monday of each month
6:00 p.m. Council Meeting
Council meetings are broadcast live on Rock Hill's government access channel, Cable Channel 19.
Workshops are usually held the second Thursday of each month at 8:00 am in Room 373 of Rock Hill City Hall, 155 Johnston Street, however this schedule is subject to change. Please call 803/329-7012 for any updates to this schedule.
When can citizens speak at a council meetings?
The City Council welcomes the public to all Council meetings, workshops and hearings. When appropriate, you are encouraged to express your opinion during these meetings.
Certain items on the agenda are identified as Public Hearings. These are formal proceedings giving citizens an opportunity to express their concerns on a specific issue. Some issues on which the Council is required to hold public hearings are the annual budget, rezonings, public improvement projects or levying of special assessments.

Six Council members are elected by wards and serve four-year staggered terms. Find out who represents your district using the Ward/Precinct Finder.
How long does a council meeting usually last?
On average, a council meeting lasts approximately two to three hours.
How do I get an item on the Council agenda? Contact City Management office at 803/329-7012. Most items will be put on the Citizens Hearing.
What is the city policy on a specific issue? The city’s codes and ordinances are available online or call the Finance Department at 803/329-5557.
Where can I get a city budget? The City of Rock Hill’s budget is available online or call the Finance Department at 803/329-5557.

Where do I go to get a marriage license? Contact the York County Probate Judge at 803/684-8513.
How do I get a voter registration card? Contact York County Voter Registration at 803/684-1242.
Who do I call if I am not sure which department would handle my concern or complaints? Contact the Customer Care line at 803/325-2500.
Why does the City use an outside company out of North Carolina to send out utility bill? A competitive bid was put out for this service and the lowest bid came from a company in NC.
