Sanctioned Races

Check the track calendar for upcoming race dates; participants can register online via BikeReg. No admission fee for spectators.

The Rock Hill Summer Series and Track Champions Race Series are both USAC Sanctioned Races hosted at the Rock Hill Velodrome this year in 2024! These races include individual and group events and are open to all certified riders who have an active USAC license and are a Category 4 or above for Mass Starts and Sprint events. All participants must sign a USAC liability waiver prior to each race.

Grassroots Races

Dates: Thursdays 6 PM – 8 PM, Third Saturdays 9 AM – 5 PM
Cost: $10

Grassroots Races are held every Thursday evening and on the third Saturday of each month from April – September. The purpose of these races is to provide a progressive pathway for novice riders to take their racing experience to the next level and to help riders qualify to participate in our USAC-sanctioned races. Race format and categories are to be determined based on rider attendance under USAC guidelines. Saturday racing includes time trials in the morning, followed by sprints, then mass starts. No sanctioned points, prizes, or primes – just fun!

Match Sprint Practice Session

Dates: First Saturday April – September
Time: 2 PM – 5 PM
Cost: $10

Sprint Practices are offered on the first Saturday of each month from April – September. These sessions are geared towards both new and experienced riders who aim to improve on and learn more about the strategies and techniques essential for success in match sprints.

Flying 200s and Standing Starts Practice

Dates: (Fourth Friday except for August) or (Last Friday except for May)
Time: 6 PM – 8 PM
Cost: $10

Our Flying 200s and Standing Starts sessions are held monthly from April – September, the Friday before each Track Champions Race Series session. Whether you are a rider, coach, or volunteer, this practice focuses on learning how to hold or ride from a standing start. The practice timeline is to be determined based on rider attendance and the goals of the group.

Required Track Bike Specifications

To use your track bike, our staff must approve it before first use on the track. 

  • The bottom bracket must be at least 11.25in from the ground to the center of the bracket. 
  • Crank arm length must not exceed 170mm. 
  • The recommended maximum gear size is 90in. 

Track bikes and equipment are subject to inspection. Failure to meet the set specifications will result in exemption from riding without a refund.
