What if every day, in every activity we do and in every decision we make,
we asked ourselves,

The #1 Question: “Is It Good for the Children?”

In 2007, Rock Hill City Council adopted the #1 Question: Is It Good for the Children campaign, with a goal to further strengthen Rock Hill as a livable city that recognizes the importance of all children and youth in our community.

Campaign Goals

  • To alert our community to the many positive youth resources that exist
  • To help our community recognize the impact of the decisions they make daily and how they ultimately affect the children and youth of Rock Hill.

Achieving the Goals

The City Council, the Commission for Children and Youth, and the Ambassadors for the #1 Question Campaign, utilize the steps below to achieve the goals of the #1 Question:

  • Making businesses, governments, educational institutions and the general public aware of the status of children and youth in the Rock Hill area.
  • Asking these groups to commit to making the welfare of children, youth and families a priority.
  • Demonstrating their commitment through the decisions that they make.

Community Resources & Initiatives:

Children are the conscience of a community;
which means the care and attention expressed for an individual child becomes the most elegant measure of that community's regard for itself.
