Applications can be made online through the online jobs page.

All applicants are required to undergo a written exam and background investigations. Upon successful completion of this phase, you advance to the next step: your application is then forwarded to the Fire Department for further review and consideration in the hiring process.

Once your application is received by the Fire Department, it will be held until a Physical Strength/Conditioning Evaluation (PAT) is scheduled. The PAT will be conducted at the Rock Hill Fire Training Center located at 2151 Ogden Road. All applicants who successfully complete this phase will be assigned a date, time and location for an oral interview.

The applicant who successfully completes all phases of the hiring process will then have their name placed on an Eligible for Hire list from which all openings within the Suppression Division of the Fire Department are filled.
