The Emergency Management division was created to develop coordinating efforts between City resources and the York County Office of Emergency Management for incidents and events that affect the public safety of Rock Hill citizens.

It is important to be informed about potential emergency situations, including power outages and natural and man-made disasters.

Quarterly Siren Testing

Alert Sirens have been strategically placed throughout York County within a 10 mile radius of the Catawba Nuclear Plant. The sirens are tested quarterly for maintenance purposes in January, April, July and October on the second Wednesday of the month at 11:50 AM. The test will last for approximately three minutes. If the siren is heard at times other then the quarterly tests, York County and Rock Hill residents are asked to turn to one of the local radio stations for updated information.
