The Worthy Boys & Girls Camp

The Worthy Boys Camp began in 1949 when 48 acres of land were donated to the Rock Hill Pistol Club for a training and firing range. The donation came with the stipulation that a camp for kids had to be developed. The first camp opened that very same year and has been in almost continuous operation since that time.

In 1995, the camp became The Worthy Boys and Girls Camp. Now, the camp welcomes almost 200 York County youth every year. For many boys and girls, the Worthy Boys & Girls camp is their first camp experience.

This is a great opportunity for kids to have fun at a FREE week long overnight camp that is planned and organized by police. Throughout its history, the camp has provided an opportunity for area young people to:

  • Experience the outdoors.
  • Learn new skills such as swimming, first aid and various crafts.
  • Develop new interpersonal skills.
  • Build personal self-esteem.

The camp is located at 2352 Worthy Boys Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
