Rock Hill Utilities is a municipally owned and operated combined utility system providing electricwater and sewer service within the City and its surrounding areas. Rates are set by City Council.

Customer Service handles utility service connection, disconnection and transfer requests for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

Call Us First!

If you have a major electric, water or sewer service problem at your home or business, call Rock Hill Utilities BEFORE you call an electrician or plumber. Don’t needlessly pay for the service fee for a plumber or electrician. Call us first at 803-329-5500 so we can assess the problem to determine if it’s on the City side or customer side.

Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)

Electric and water meters record the consumption of electricity and water and send that information back to the City over our network. These meters differ from traditional meters because there is a wireless module installed in the meter which allows for two-way wireless communication (much like a cell phone) between the meter and the utility.

The technology allows the City to detect problems, such as power outages or water leaks in infrastructure more quickly. It also improves billing accuracy and provides customers an online portal, CustomerConnect, to get information about power and water consumption patterns.
