Term of Office:

Typically three years, but up to the discretion of City Council.

Authority:

The A.W. Huckle City Beautification Fund Committee administers the proceeds of a $25,000 gift to the City of Rock Hill by Mr. A. W. Huckle. The proceeds must be used exclusively for tree and shrub planting in public parks or on public property. The principal of the gift may not be used, but proceeds from the gift may be used to purchase trees and shrubbery to beautify public streets, parks or planting areas within the City. The Committee is advisory but has authority to withhold approval of projects suggested if project does not meet criteria outlined in the gift provisions. The A.W. Huckle City Beautification Committee was created July 11, 1960.

Membership:

Five members appointed by City Council. The City Manager and the City Forester serve as ex-officio members. Members must reside within the Rock Hill School District Three boundaries.

Responsibilities:

To administer the proceeds of a $25,000 gift to the City of Rock Hill by Mr. A. W. Huckle for tree and shrub planting in public parks or on public property.

Meeting Schedule:

The Committee meets quarterly (January, April, July and October) on the second Wednesday at 4 PM in the Conference Room of the City’s Operation Center located at 757 South Anderson Road.
