Perry Sutton was born and raised in Rock Hill and been an active member of the community since he was a young boy, committed to improving the city he grew up in. In February 2022, Sutton began serving on Rock Hill City Council, representing Ward 5.

Sutton attended Rock Hill High School and chose to serve in the United States Coast guard upon graduation. He had a highly decorated 30-year career and received numerous awards, including Coast Guardsman of the Year.

Sutton serves as president of the Sylvia Circle Demons Football Organization and has coached youth football in Rock Hill for the past three decades.

He’s a member of the Chief Petty Officers Association, Coast Guard Base Charleston Regional Retiree Council, The American Legion, My Brothers Keepers, The Gray-Corkerell VFW Post 3746, and the Rock Hill Bicycle Committee.

Sutton currently attends Winthrop University and will graduate in May 2022.

He’s a proud husband to Alicia, as well as a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, classmate, neighbor, deacon, chief, and coach.
